Get to know me!

Hey there!

I’m Soumya (pronounced “Sou-moh”), a first-year PhD student in Mathematics at Indiana University Bloomington. Before moving to Bloomington, I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mathematics from Indian Statistical Institute. I’m interested in Algebraic Topology, particularly in Homotopy Theory and the areas around it.

Why this blog?

I really just wanted a casual space to share my thoughts on math, write about the problems I find beautiful, and document my day-to-day experiences navigating grad school.

A massive thanks to Bikram for helping me get this site off the ground. His help with setting up $\LaTeX$ was an absolute lifesaver—without it, a math blog wouldn’t have made much sense! And this was back when relying on AI to build a site was just a dream.
